Contact High started as a monthly show on Ice House Radio — one hour, once a month, built out of whatever was moving us that month and whoever we could get into the booth. It's still that. This site is the rest of it.

Houston's electronic music scene is bigger than any one night, and most of it goes undocumented. A set happens, four hundred people see it, and there's no record it ever took place. We're keeping one: a calendar that stays current, interviews with the people doing the work, writing about the records, and the mixes themselves.

The name is the idea. You don't have to be the one holding it to feel it — proximity is enough. That's how scenes work. For whatever gets you high.

Submit an event

The calendar is open to the whole city, not just our own nights. Send the date, venue, lineup, door time, and ticket link to events@contacthigh.fm and it'll go up. There's no fee and no catch. Nights we present ourselves are marked in red so you always know who's talking.

Pitch a story

We publish scene reports, record columns, interviews, and arguments. If you have one, send a paragraph on what it is and why now to pitch@contacthigh.fm. We pay for what we run. First-time writers are welcome — say so and we'll edit with you.

Send a playlist

Anyone can make one, and we'd rather have yours than another of ours. Build it on whatever you already use, send the link to playlists@contacthigh.fm with the name you want credited, and it goes up on the Listen page. There are a few briefs if you want somewhere to start, and no obligation to answer any of them.

Record a guest mix

Guest mixes run between episodes. Sixty minutes, your call on what goes in it, a tracklist if you're willing. Get in touch at hello@contacthigh.fm.
