A radio show that started keeping a record.

Contact High is an hour a month on Ice House Radio and a site that documents the rest of it — a calendar, interviews, writing, mixes. We're in Houston and we go to these things.

You're reading this because your nights go up on Instagram and nowhere a machine can read. The alternative to asking you was scraping you, so we're asking.

02 · What it goes on

S.Y.O.T.D.F. is the calendar.

See you on the dance floor

Every date in this city we can stand behind, in one place, read by people working out where to be on a Friday. Our own nights are marked with an asterisk so nobody has to guess who's talking; the rest of the city is listed exactly the same way.

Nothing publishes itself. A person reads every date before it goes up, which is slower than a feed and is the reason the calendar is worth reading.Look at it first if you haven't.

All of it, free.

Take it

  • Your dates on the calendar

    No fee, no placement to buy, no better slot for money. There is no version of this where you pay us to be listed, and no version where somebody else pays to be above you.

  • A guest mix, a playlist, or an interview

    All three are open to you and all three are opt-in — tick what you're interested in below. We say yes to what we can actually make, so treat these as an offer to be considered rather than a booking. The calendar is not conditional on any of them.

  • A code, and then you're done with forms

    What comes back is a short code made out of your name. After that a night is a text message: the code, then the details. No account, no password, nothing to log into.

Two fields, then whatever else you want to tell us.

Only your name and one way to reach you are required. Everything under them is optional and stays optional — a long form is how a submission gets abandoned half-written on a phone.

How the code works

A person reads this and replies with your code. It's derived from your name, in capitals, so it's something you can type from memory into a text message.

It identifies you; it doesn't prove anything. Anyone who saw your code could type it, so nothing here treats it as a password — every date that arrives is still read by a person before it goes on the calendar. That is also why we don't hand one out automatically: a code is a channel into the queue, and it goes to people we've read.

Sending a night

Your code and the number come back together. After that a date is a text message — the code, then the details. A person reads it, and asks you if something's missing rather than guessing.

What we do with a phone number

Your number and your address stay in the inbox. Neither is published and neither is ever committed to this site — what goes on the calendar is your name, your links and the night itself. If you'd rather not leave a number, leave it empty; it costs you nothing but the text line.

Who you are

Optional, and it isn't a test. It comes to us with the rest of this, and nothing here is printed without asking you first.

An address or a handle, whichever you actually read. Never published.

Never printed and never committed to the site — same rule as your number. It's here so we know the night is real and don't publish a location you're keeping off the internet.

If you'd rather type it than text it. Your code goes at the top; only the name and the date are required. It is not a login — the code tells us who a night came from, and a person still reads it.

05 · Hiring us

We also build the room.

Enough people asked after the last one that it's worth writing down: we take production and decoration work on other people's parties. Paid, quoted per room, and separate from everything above.

This and the calendar don't touch

Hiring us buys nothing on the calendar, and the calendar costs nothing. Your dates go up the same way whether we build your room or you never write back — same list, same order, no marker.

What that means in a room

Lights, sound, and the physical build — the part that makes a warehouse feel like somewhere on purpose rather than a warehouse with a booth in it. Tick what's closest below. We'd rather tell you what we can't do now than find it out on the day, so expect a straight answer about the rest.

What happens to what you send

None of it is published — not the date, not the address, not the budget. A party you haven't announced stays unannounced, and nothing here becomes a calendar entry by itself. If you want the date listed as well, that's the form above, and it's still free.

A reference, a mood, a room you liked, or just the problem. Rough is fine — the first reply is questions either way.
